Sounds of the Slaughterhouse

Mission statement:

Right from the start, Sounds of the Slaughterhouse was conceived not as a band with a fixed set of members, but as a communal project inviting everyone and anyone to take part, regardless of their musical background. In this spirit, for the first two years of SOTS' existence, countless jam sessions were held and many releases were uploaded to Bandcamp, ignoring all preconceived notions of cohesion, quality control, or "goodness."

When geographical distance became a major hurdle to hosting these jam sessions, the band moved into a hiatus, shifting to releasing some remixes and recordings from settings outside of the SOTS banner. During this time, and through these releases, the idea was formed to keep SOTS running not as a singular band project, but as a label.

This new form of SOTS as a label would not only host recordings of occasional jams under the SOTS band name itself, but also serve as a place for both established and unestablished musicians and non-musicians to share recordings they might otherwise not want to release officially. Demos, live bootlegs, remixes, outtakes, B-sides, and re-releases are all welcome under the SOTS banner. We're excited to produce physical DIY releases on CD-Rs and cassettes, with office-printed album covers, and to host release and jam parties.

The Bandcamp page has been curated, showcasing our best material and moving some of the more experimental (bad) releases to our new website.
